a mountain view from sugar bear lodgeWe invite you to tour our charming vacation homes overlooking beautiful Lake Glenville.

Located in the "Land of the Waterfalls" within Western North Carolina’s panoramic Blue Ridge Mountains, these "homes away from home" are nestled in the Nantahala National Forest.

Our homes in the little hamlet of "Glenville" are just 3½ miles north of the village of Cashiers and 14 miles from historic Highlands.

land of the waterfalls Lake Glenville, originally known as Thorpe Reservoir is the highest lake east of the Mississippi, with 26 miles of shoreline at an altitude of over 3400 feet.

Encompassing 1470 acres the waters of this pristine lake offer a variety of water sports, excellent fishing or just a leisurely cruise around the many coves and spectacular waterfalls along its banks. Lake Glenville is considered to be one of the 10 most beautiful lakes in America.”

Situated on the “Cashiers-Highlands Plateau”, we are ideally located in close proximity to a variety of activities, shopping and dining.
